The biggest lie about your urges?
Everything you see on social media tells you the same thing: fight the urge, suppress the desire, run from the feeling. They treat your natural drive like a disease that needs to be medicated or blocked. That is why you are still struggling. You are treating a massive source of raw, human potential like an enemy to be destroyed. Your urges are just energy, intense, physical, undeniable energy. When you try to push that energy down or panic because it is there, it does not disappear; it festers until it explodes in the form of a relapse. The secret is not killing the urge. It is transmuting it. When that wave hits, it is a signal that your body is primed for action. You do not need to fix yourself; you need to direct that intensity somewhere else kickboxing, deep work, a heavy lift, or a creative project. Stop looking at your drive as a weakness and start looking at it as fuel. If you do not use it to build your life, your brain will eventually force you to use it to destroy your progress. I am curious: When the energy spikes today, what are you choosing to do with it instead of spiraling?

The biggest lie about your urges?
Doomscrolling Makes You Addicted To Pornography, Here is Why
Doomscrolling and pornography consumption are linked by the way they hijack your brain’s dopamine reward system. When you spend hours mindlessly scrolling, your brain enters a cycle of "dopamine depletion," where it becomes desensitized to stimulation and struggles to regulate impulses. Because this leaves you in a state of high stress and weakened willpower, you become significantly more vulnerable to turning toward more intense forms of digital gratification like pornography as a way to numb the anxiety or emotional exhaustion caused by the scroll. Essentially, by constantly feeding your brain easy, high-intensity digital rewards, you are lowering your natural ability to resist cravings, making it harder to pull yourself away from one compulsive habit before you find yourself falling into the next.
