ON LIFE'S JOURNEY
Dear Community,
On November 22nd of last year I was scheduled to board a flight to South Africa. Instead, an ambulance rushed me to the South West Acute Hospital in Northern Ireland, where I spent two critical weeks in the Resuscitation Unit fighting acute pneumonia.
Lying in that hospital ward stripped away every piece of peripheral noise. It forced me to look squarely at my new, quieter reality here, the deep love that anchors me, and the creative spark that keeps me grounded.
It was a profound reckoning with mortality, memory, and the realisation that I still have so much left to write, share, and live.
I’ve put together a deeply personal essay reflecting on this journey, the extraordinary care of the hospital staff, and what it means to choose life all over again.
I’d love for you to give it a read and share your own thoughts in the comments below. Have you ever faced a sudden turn that forced you to re-evaluate what truly matters?
