Reps. Sets. Rest.
These aren’t random numbers in a workout—they’re tools that help shape the result.
At Stronger Together Academy, we teach kids and families that how many reps you do, how many sets you perform, and how long you rest all change what your body is training for.
Here’s the simple breakdown:
- Lower reps + longer rest = more strength and power
- Moderate reps + moderate rest = great for building muscle and body control
- Higher reps + shorter rest = more muscular endurance and work capacity
Why rest matters
Rest isn’t “doing nothing.”It’s the time your muscles, breathing, and focus recover so you can give quality effort on the next set.
If the goal is to move well, get stronger, and train safely, rest is part of the workout—not a break from it.
The big lesson:
When we understand reps, sets, and rest, we stop guessing and start training with purpose.
That’s exactly what we want kids to learn:how to understand their body, train for a goal, and build lifelong fitness skills—not just exercise randomly.
