When to Quit a Project
It's okay to walk away. If you've been grinding on something for months with no real progress — stop. If you've been "perfecting" the same script for years — stop. If you keep finding reasons not to open the final draft — stop. Don't power through out of stubbornness. That project is stealing time from the script that actually represents you and your talent. Take stock. Ask yourself: Why am I writing this? Is it worth my time? If the answer is no, ask the harder question: What story is? Your best work isn't the one you suffered through. It's the one you couldn't wait to get back to. Find that one.
Distribution Models (FAST & AVOD) for Indie Filmmakers
Filmmakers, you can license your film to a FAST (Free Ad-supported Streaming Television) or AVOD (Ad-supported Video On Demand) channel. If you are making a film or putting a pitch together for investors, this monetization avenue should be on your list. If your film is at least 30 minutes, it can earn meaningful money. To learn more, check out the Epi 38 of the Kinema podcast with guest Geoff Clark, the CEO of acTVe, CEO of Documentary+, and co-founder of Free Live Sports. acTVe operates as a full-service streaming company that builds and manages FAST channels for brands, studios, and media companies.

4 Rules for a Pitch That Actually Lands
Show what you stand for. Your values drive how you work. Be clear about them; they attract the right people and repel the wrong ones. Make an offer, not an ask. You're not begging. You're offering access to something the world needs. Answer: Why me? Why this? Why now? Why you? Lead with your experience. Nobody can argue with your track record. Stats are debatable. Your lived experience isn't. Be specific. General pitches are forgettable. The more specific and honest you are, in your words, your perspective, your example, the more powerfully it lands. Which of these is hardest for you? Drop it below.
