Turning off my phone for one full day changed more than I expected
On Good Friday, I decided to completely give up my phone for the whole day. I turned it off, put it in a drawer, and just stayed away from it.
Honestly, I was surprised by how much better I felt. For some reason, I felt happier and more at peace. One small moment that really stood out was when I took my mom grocery shopping and waited for her in the car. Normally, I would instantly start doomscrolling, but this time I just sat there and looked around me. I watched life happening, and it actually felt really nice.
What I noticed most was the peace. I didn’t have those constant dopamine spikes and crashes from being on my phone, and the whole day just felt calmer and lighter.
Chris and Justin have talked a lot about limiting screen time, but this was the first time I truly experienced the benefit for myself, and it was awesome.
So from now on, I’m deciding to seriously limit my screen time to just a couple of hours a day, or only when it’s really necessary.
