What’s your perception of time?
I listened to an incredible podcast this morning about our perception of time, and it cracked something open in my mind. It made me rethink how we move through life, how we experience reality, and why so many of us feel like we’ve been here before. Is time linear, or layered? Is consciousness something we’re inside of rather than something we possess? How did we even imagine things like video games or simulations if those ideas didn’t already live somewhere within us? What keeps circling back for me is this: we are not here just to work, suffer, and disappear. We are here to experience. To love. To feel things in a physical form and learn through them. I keep thinking about monks and contemplative traditions, and how much they’ve understood about time, presence, and consciousness long before modern language caught up. Through stillness, discipline, and deep inner practice, they explored the mind not to escape life, but to see it more clearly. Illness changed this for me. Being that close to losing everything stripped life down to its essentials. It showed me how fragile we are, but also how connected. I believe there’s a spark of the divine in all of us, whatever name you give it. Energy, light, God, consciousness. Moving through these vessels to learn, grow, and remember who we are beneath the noise. Everyone you pass is carrying something you can’t see. Different pain, different lessons, same humanity. That’s why I believe peace starts inward. When we work on finding our own inner steadiness, our own light, we stop needing to harm others to feel whole. Lately, my goal is simple: love more, judge less, help where I can. If more of us were nudged awake by something that shifted our perspective, I think the world would feel very different. Just my random Tuesday morning thoughts.
