The Lord’s Prayer —
The Blueprint Jesus Gave Us
After this manner therefore pray ye:
Our Father which art in heaven,
Hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come.
Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil:
For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

When the disciples asked Jesus how to pray, He didn’t give them a complicated formula.
He gave them a framework.
A way to approach God that keeps prayer balanced, honest, and powerful.
Let’s walk through it.
“Our Father which art in heaven”
Prayer begins with relationship.
Jesus reminds us that God is Father.
Not distant.
Not unreachable.
Not uninterested in your life.

“God, I recognize who You are to me.
You are my Father and I belong to You.”
Prayer starts with connection, not requests.
“Hallowed be thy name”
This is reverence.
Before asking God for anything, Jesus teaches us to honor His holiness.

“God, You are holy.

You deserve honor and respect.”
Prayer begins with honor, not entitlement.
“Thy kingdom come”
This is alignment.
We invite God’s kingdom to operate in our lives.

“God, let Your authority and Your way of rule in my life.”
Prayer shifts our focus from earthly thinking to kingdom thinking.
“Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven”
This is surrender.
Instead of trying to control everything, we submit to God’s plan.

Let YOUR WILL BE MY WAY.”
Prayer moves from my plan → to God’s plan.
“Give us this day our daily bread”
Now we move into provision.
Jesus teaches us to trust God day by day.
Not next year’s bread.
Not next month’s bread.
Daily bread.

Prayer builds daily dependence on him.
“And forgive us our debts”
This is repentance.
Prayer includes acknowledging where we’ve missed the mark.

If there’s anything in me that’s not right, correct it.”
Repentance keeps our hearts clean and humble before God.
“As we forgive our debtors”
This is forgiveness toward others.
Jesus intentionally connects receiving forgiveness with giving forgiveness.

“Lord, help me 1,2,3 release it.”
Unforgiveness blocks spiritual growth.
Prayer clears that
“Lead us not into temptation”
This is guidance.
We ask God to help us avoid situations that could pull us away from Him.

Prayer invites God to direct our choices.
“But deliver us from evil”
This is protection.
Life includes spiritual battles and harmful influences.

Prayer covers and protects your life in the spiritual realm.
“For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.”
This is perspective and praise.
The prayer ends by giving everything back to God.

“God, everything belongs to You anyway.
The power is Yours.
The glory is Yours.”

1️⃣ When I pray, do I begin by acknowledging my relationship with God as Father?
2️⃣ Do I take time to honor God’s holiness, or do I rush straight into my requests?
3️⃣ Am I truly willing to surrender my plans and allow God’s will to shape my life?
4️⃣ Do I trust God to provide my daily needs, or do I carry anxiety about tomorrow?
5️⃣ Is there anything in my heart I need to repent for so my relationship with God stays clear and honest?
6️⃣ Am I holding onto unforgiveness that God is asking me to release?
7️⃣ Do I consistently invite God to guide my steps and protect my life through prayer?
