Level 2 — Independent Tech Diagnose common residential problems Test controllers, wiring, valves and solenoids Find straightforward shorts and broken wires Locate valves and repair manifolds Replace controllers Repair mainlines and laterals up to 1¼ inches Diagnose basic pressure and coverage problems Repair drip systems and regulators Add or relocate sprinkler heads Price standard repairs Complete residential calls independently Identify problems requiring escalation

Level 3 — Advanced Residential Tech Diagnose complicated residential systems Trace buried wires and locate breaks Troubleshoot intermittent electrical problems Work with master valves and pump-start relays Install smart controllers and sensors Diagnose pressure and flow restrictions Repair PVC up to 1½ inches Rebuild complete valve manifolds Redesign poorly performing zones Estimate larger repairs Lead and train junior technicians Inspect completed work and prevent callbacks

Level 4 — Senior/Commercial Tech Diagnose advanced commercial systems Understand two-wire systems and decoders Replace and address decoders Troubleshoot large valves and controllers Diagnose basic pump and VFD problems Calculate flow, pressure loss and pipe sizing Handle high-pressure repairs safely Perform commercial system audits Plan complex system modifications Lead crews and manage larger jobs Communicate with property managers Resolve difficult callbacks
