Speed Limit Blues is live
Hey y’all, Speed Limit Blues is officially out. This song came from a specific headspace: those moments when life forces a slowdown, but momentum is the only way forward. It’s for when things don’t move on your timeline. When you’re stuck waiting, but quitting isn’t an option. When turning around would be easier, and you decide not to. ‘Cause getting better is the only way through. This song is about staying with it. Trusting the direction you chose, and being loyal to it. It’s also for anyone with a sense of duty — to the people you love, to the work you’ve committed to, to the version of yourself you said you’d become. I wanted to write a song to get me going, one that inspired freedom and determination, and I think you’ll feel it too. If you’ve ever felt pulled back while trying to move ahead, this one’s for you. Thank you for being here, for listening, and for riding along with me. Turn it up. It’s better in the car. — Ben 🎧 Live everywhere now. Speed Limit Blues is live
Songs I write for who I’m becoming
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays 🎄🎅🏼 I realized recently that a lot of the songs I write are more like reminders for where I’m headed. Speed Limit Blues came from that place without me fully realizing it at the time. Now I can see how writing toward a future version of myself has shown up more than once. This video is just me thinking a bit about that and the year ahead. Enjoy the rest of the year 🤝🏼

On Slowing Down
I submitted my next single today. It comes out December 30th. This one came from wanting to move faster than life allows. It’s also the first song I finished after my dog passed. I hadn’t shared that part before, but it mattered to this process. That’s why he’s on the cover, felt like the right way to carry him forward. I’m really grateful for everyone who played on this and helped shape it (Guilherme De Lima, Eduardo De Lima, Daniel Levi). This song was a true collaboration, and I appreciate y'all bringing it to life. There’s also a new video up on the About page that better reflects where this community is now and what I’m building moving forward. Also, I’ve been thinking a lot about exploring the idea of doing live looper-based playing/writing sessions. More on that in the video. As always, appreciate y’all being here and letting me share the process.

What I Wish I Knew a Year Ago
Shared a new video today about something I wish I understood when I first started releasing music. Finishing a song isn’t the hard part. The fun starts when it's released. Consistency, community, storytelling… and learning that everything takes longer than you think it will. There’s also a quick look at how I’m using this community moving forward. If you’re building something of your own, I think this will hit. Would love to hear what you relate to most.

Welcome To My Family
Shared a quick video today about where some of my writing comes from. Always a good time going back home for the holidays. If you’re here for original music, storytelling, and building something without permission, this one will make sense. Would love to hear what you think.
