Electives
Something every Spark-ED member registering for next semester needs to hear.
Most students fill elective slots with whatever fits the schedule or sounds easy.
Nobody teaches students to treat elective selection as a strategic decision.
A small number of specific elective categories consistently show up in graduates who transition into careers smoothly.
Public speaking. Applied statistics. Technical writing. A relevant foreign language.
Not because they look impressive. Because they build practical, transferable skills your major requirements often do not.
Before you enroll in any elective, ask this:
"What specific skill or credential does this build beyond the grade?"
If the honest answer is nothing, that is information worth acting on.
