2nd week of March update
We recently received an order of a trending style special request, welcome new members. The previous jeweler had spelt it wrong, it said yaky I know it's sad but in the Hispanic community jewelers there's some dysfunctional ones that put out work just to get by. I accepted that I have never attempted to do this and I would have to practice with silver first. So I have someone who has more experience than me and he's going to be helping us with wild custom work like this. Again my mistake was even noticeable with the sizing I had ordered only one quarter of size bigger, nope, it needed one whole size and a quarter which I sized in front of the customer by hammer expansion was kinda embarrassing but it's my fault and I was able to fix it. Don't let this happen to you.

Before and after example
This lady brought this in, she knew nothing about it except that it was given to her by her "Grandmother". Most of the time my customers are hotel, club, and restaurant staff where they're more likely to find stuff which is where I come across all of this stuff they find. Sometimes they don't know they're carrying a fortune like this one. Excuse my bench I was in the middle of a manic rush. This stone is a spectacle to look at, once in a lifetime kinda thing, I promise you. This is the fruitage of this job, seeing new jewelry.

Me and my brother teamed up on this one and this is our second attempt but we plan on getting better too. When you don't have matching stones to do a piece like this then it is way harder to make, so you really need to have the stones chosen and set on putty along with sketchings and drawings. Here we just worked with what we had. Our next attempt will have a more galleria support frame on the back that is made separately and then welded onto the setting half. So besides the repairs we like to do different projects like these. How I welded the prongs was two at a time with u shape wire to the width of the stone with notches already burred out so they get snap in and you don't have to hold anything but run solder. Feel free to ask me anything else on how we did this.

The heart ring
My first time doing something like this and it turned out great. The stone isn't real but she had it since birth. Then their house burned down and was all she had left. We melted her gold and used it to make it. I'm still going over a few details . I charged her 150 dollars. Her gold wasn't that great because of the chains and solder aren't great scrap metals but we made it happen.

Diamond cut finishes and in between
This type of finish is superb when it comes to showcase the precious metal color. I'll be collaborating with years of experience in this field. This new year is full of surprises.
