Sometimes I go deep into meditation. Other times the words flow and I'm called to write it down. Tonight was both. I was lovely to see @Patricia Wagner who has a busy Spring, and to welcome @Elizabeth O'Carroll back to write together. Thank you both for your presence. What was your biggest awareness?

I just got in from an incredible healing session and am pretty chill. Join me as we come into coherence and then write.

Authority doesn't precede authorship. It grows from it. Language has been trying to tell us something about this for a very long time. The Latin root of authority is auctor: master, leader, author. We have spent so long treating these qualities as something that must be earned from outside sources—through performance, the right credentials, or external validation—that we have forgotten language itself points in the opposite direction. Take the word courage. It comes from the Latin cor, which means heart. To be courageous is, at its root, to act from the heart. And confidence: its Latin root means to trust fully, to have complete faith in oneself. Authority is authorship. It is the act of putting your name on something that came from you. Courage is not the absence of fear. It is the willingness to speak from the heart even when fear is present. Confidence is not certainty about the outcome—it is the practice of trusting in your own knowing, your lived experience, and your unique way of seeing the world. None of these are destinations you arrive at. They are states of being. One way we hone these attributes is through the practice of writing one true sentence at a time, as Ernest Hemingway taught us. And the place where all three of them intersect, where authorship, courage, and self-trust come together, is writing your unique message. That is why I believe writing is one of the most profound acts of self-recognition available to us. Which of these words has felt most difficult for you to claim as your own?

I'm back from my family gathering. I made it through a rainy drive, (luckily no dense fog, cuz that's just scary) I was so tired from all the fun and late nights. What a blessing to have an incredible family and community. 💜💜💜 And now it's time for our VIP gathering to write together! ✍️
