I used to feel gross about marketing myself. Like, slimy-used-car-salesman gross.Even though I believed in what I was offering, I’d second guess every post, overthink every word, and sometimes just disappear altogether. He leaned back, smiled, and said: “You know Jesus marketed Himself, right?” Now hold up. That caught me off guard. But the more we unpacked it, the more it made sense. Jesus shared stories, served people, healed in public, and invited others to follow Him. He didn’t shrink back from His calling, He walked in it boldly, for the sake of others. And maybe that’s the piece we’re missing… When you shift your focus from self-promotion to serving, it all changes. It’s not about spotlighting YOU, it’s about shining a light through you.
