Why did I choose my header photo?
Over the years I started paying attention to what my selfies were saying. There’s a saying that says “a picture is worth a thousand words.” And when I look at this picture it shows the raw, natural, beautiful me. We can all make ourselves look soft, but what about embodying softness no matter what? In a pair of sweats, or with an Afro or messy bun? Can you smile and still warm hearts, and you approach people in this raw state of being and people still see the softness in your eyes? It took me many years to get here and I don’t just want to share a bunch of random things, plus I absolutely love talking things through. That’s what building a community is all about. This picture to me is perfect. My hair a mess, eyes closed softly, face relaxed, and if you’re wondering this was the end of my day, I had been to work, things had gone wrong, but even then I was still able to come home and find that moment to just be still, held by the Lord, natural, unashamed. True softness! And I want to empower women to be able to do the same or share what you do that helps you create softness. You don’t have to wait until you get a man to try to be soft, trust me I tried it and it doesn’t work. Matter of fact the softer I become the better the man that finds me attractive. The world has miss placed this concept for women and I think we need to bring it back! ASAP
