If you haven’t seen this yet, you can now go into the Discovery tab, tap “For You”, and literally fine-tune your algorithm by selecting topics you want to see more or less of. Gone are the days of pushing for virality. This changes the organic game more than most brands realise. Because producing content for “the masses” is now tougher than ever. But producing content for the right audience? More powerful than ever. 🤝 The algorithm is becoming increasingly personalised. Users are actively telling Instagram what they want. Which means: • Generic content dies faster • Broad hooks get filtered out • Low relevance = no distribution You are no longer competing for attention in one big pool. You are competing inside micro-interest bubbles.. If your content is vague, surface-level or trend-chasing without niche alignment, it simply won’t survive in refined feeds. That’s the con. Howeverrrr, the upside is MASSIVE for us! 🙌 If someone selects “online business” or “entrepreneurship” as a preferred topic, and that’s what you create around, your content is now landing in a feed that asked for it. Higher intent. Higher watch time. Higher engagement quality. ✅ The algorithm isn’t just pushing content anymore. It’s matching declared interests. For brands & creators, this cuts both ways. If your positioning is unclear, you’ll struggle to scale organically. If your positioning is sharp, you’ll DOMINATE your micro-category. This is why clarity beats volume in 2026. Stop trying to go viral with everything. Start trying to be unmistakable in something. Ahead of February 14th, Instagram has rolled out new Valentine-themed features including: 💌 Custom status bubbles 💘 Interactive @mention stickers ❤️ Branded Story templates ✨ Heart-based visual effects and overlays (See screenshots below 👇) On the surface, it looks like a seasonal aesthetic update. In reality? It’s a strategic push toward Stories, urgency, and emotional engagement right before one of the highest-converting buying moments of Q1. Stories = urgency. Valentine’s = emotional buying. Emotional buying = higher conversion rates. Instagram knows exactly what they’re doing! They’re designed to increase: • Replies • Shares • Profile taps • Story watch time Which means more algorithm warmth for your account during a commercial peak. Now here’s how to actually use it. If you’re a brand or service business: Use the themed status bubbles to frame limited-time offers. “From the heart…” → introduce a bundle. “Hi!” → soft CTA into DMs. Use the @mention stickers for collaborations, testimonials, and customer features. Valentine’s is perfect for social proof. If you’re content-led: Create interactive Story templates around: • Tag someone you love • Date night ideas • Best gift under £50 • Worst Valentine’s fail Layer in polls, question boxes, and countdowns. Seasonal engagement spikes fast when it feels timely. If you’re e-commerce, this is where it gets serious. The window is short. People panic-buy.
