Eye Contact
Hi All, It took me a little while to actually be able to complete this exercise, but doing so has been quite powerful for me so far - I’ve noticed several things about myself, the first being that when I’m out and about in the world my default mode is to be in such a rush to get wherever I’m going, complete whatever I’m doing, etc. Attempting this exercise has really forced me to slow down (in a good way) - I now am making a concerted effort to look people in the eye when I walk past them, and also challenging myself to notice something about them. This has been quite powerful as well and has led me to challenge a few inner unconscious assumptions I realise I was carrying around, and a kind of low-level background social anxiety, which I now feel a lot less. The heartistry meditation has been very useful for this as well. I am trying to work on smiling at people, and I can do it briefly at times, but I sometimes find it difficult because it can feel forced or put on - at other times though, I feel quite naturally happy and find myself naturally smiling at people, and occasionally I get a nice little moment of connection with someone that I’m walking past. Sorry I didn’t make the community kick off call, but it was 6am over here and I usually dont get up that early.
Eye Contact
Was walking down the street and started to assume what if everything I want I already have? I started to feel the whole, feeling complete and non needy energy. An attractive girl was walking my direction and we locked eyes for longer than a second and she broke eye contact first. I noticed I felt quite grounded and would say this is a win as I would never hold eye contact like that normally.
