Day 4: Fix Your Profile Pic + Name (People Should Recognize You)
We’ve checked our pages, we’ve cleaned up our bios…Today is about two things people underestimate: your profile picture and your name.
These are the first things people see and the first things the algorithm reads.
1) Profile Picture Rules
Ask yourself:
  • Can someone recognize me in real life from this photo?
  • Is my face clear and centered (not tiny in the corner)?
  • Is the background simple or clean, not wild and distracting?
  • Does this picture match the energy of my brand (fun, professional, creative, etc.)?
Quick tips:
  • Avoid group photos as your main profile pic.
  • Use good lighting (face toward a window > dark car selfie).
  • If you’re a business, use a simple logo that’s readable small.
2) Name = Search, Not Just Style
On a lot of platforms (especially IG and TikTok), your “Name” field is searchable. That’s free SEO you’re probably wasting.
Instead of just:
“Patrick”
Try:
“Patrick | Social Media Setup”
Or:
“Patrick – Houston Videography”
Think:First name (or brand) + what you do / who you help.Make it easier for people to find you and remember why they followed you.
Day 4 Challenge
  1. Update your profile picture so it’s: clear, clean, and on-brand.
  2. Update your Name field to include what you actually do.
  3. Comment below:
I’ll scroll through the comments and react to some of the updates so we can keep improving together.
Little changes like this stack up. Your page should introduce you before you say a word.
