Too many notifications on Skool? Here’s how to turn the noise down
Skool can feel really noisy at first, especially if you are in multiple communities and your new. Let me reassure you, you will quickly get used to the flow, but for sure it helps to turn the volume down a bit!
The good news is you can control notifications in two main ways:
  1. Change notifications per community (group by group)
  2. Turn off “like” notifications (the biggest overwhelm trigger for most people)
  3. Unfollowing people (stop receiving notifications each time someone posts)
𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗽𝗲𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 (𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗽 𝗯𝘆 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗽)
On desktop (laptop or computer)
  1. Click your profile picture (top right)
  2. Click Settings
  3. In the left menu, click Notifications
  4. Find Group notifications
  5. Next to the community you want to change, click Change
  6. Switch off anything you do not want (for example: digest emails, notification emails, admin announcements, event reminders, and so on)
  7. Repeat for each community you are in (this is the key bit)
On mobile (Skool app)
  1. Tap your profile icon
  2. 3 Little dots at the top right, Tap Settings
  3. Tap Notifications
  4. Under Group notifications, choose the community and adjust what you receive

  3. Notifications
  4. Turn off likes
𝗨𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲
On desktop (laptop or computer)
Method 1 - From a post in your feed
  1. Find a post from the person you want to unfollow
  2. Click their name or profile picture
  3. This opens their profile
  4. Click the Following button
  5. It will change to Follow (which means you have unfollowed them)
On mobile (Skool app)
  1. Tap the person’s name or profile image
  2. Open their profile
  3. Tap Following
  4. Tap Unfollow
Important to know
• Unfollowing someone does NOT remove you from the group
• You will still see their posts in the community feed
• You simply stop getting extra notifications tied to that person
