Welcome! I'm so glad you're here. 🌲💜
If you've ever thought... "There has to be a better way." "I feel like I'm reinventing the wheel." "Nobody prepared me for wearing this many hats." "I don't know if I can do this." ...then you're exactly where you belong. Hi, I'm Stacy, and I'm the Head Teacher of a tiny K–6 rural school in Eastern Oregon. When I stepped into this role, I quickly realized there wasn't one place where practical tools, real-world systems, and encouragement for small rural schools all came together. Every day I found myself solving problems, creating templates, organizing systems, and thinking, "I wish someone had handed me this on Day One." That's why I'm building Small School Possibilities. My mission is simple: 🌲 Help small rural schools become more organized, intentional, and joyful. Every time I solve a problem in my own school, I'll turn it into a practical toolkit, template, AI resource, or idea that can help another educator. This community is just getting started, and I'd love for you to help shape it. I'd love to know... 📍 Where are you from? 🏫 Tell us about your school. ❤️ What's one challenge you're hoping to solve this year? Welcome—I really am glad you're here. — Stacy
The Systems That Save Your Sanity ⭐
One of the best pieces of advice I can give a new teacher in a small school: Create the systems before you think you'll need them. Your calendar. Your substitute binder. Your classroom procedures. Your organization. You'll spend a little more time now—but you'll save yourself countless hours when the school year gets busy. 💚 What's one system you built that you're thankful for now? Or, if you're just getting started, what's one you still need to create? #SmallSchoolsBigPossibilities #RuralEducation #TeacherTips #NewTeacher #SmallSchoolLeadership

Who Refills Your Cup?
When was the last time you gave yourself permission to refill your own cup? This week reminded me that in tiny schools, we’re often everything to everyone. Teacher. Principal. Counselor. Coach. Bus driver. Secretary. Grant writer. Problem solver. There’s always one more thing waiting for us. But I’ve been wondering… What if taking care of ourselves isn’t a distraction from serving our students? What if it’s part of serving them well? I’d love to hear from this community: What helps you reset when you’ve been carrying every hat in your small school? 👇 Share your favorite way to refill your cup. 🍃 Small Schools. Big Possibilities. What would you add?

One of the promises I made when I started this community was that every time I solved a problem in my own school, I'd turn it into a practical resource for someone else. Today's resource is Small School Toolkit #1: First-Year Starter Checklist. I hope it saves you time and helps you feel more prepared. Let me know which item on the checklist is the most helpful!
