I'm an Alaskan fishing guide focused on small craft, kayaks and jon boats, with a minimal gear setup for bass fishing in my off-season. I've realized something simple but important: most anglers like me don't struggle because of their equipment- they struggle because of decisions.
Where to start fishing, how to position in wind and current, when to move, when to stay, how to adapt... These decisions control success far more than gear ever will.
I focus on breaking these decisions down and teach a simple system for:
-finding fish in any water condition
-holding position from small, wind affected crafts
-adapting when the bite changes
-simplifying your setup so you rely less on gear and more on understanding the water
This isn't about secret spots or buying equipment.
It's about learning how to consistently put yourself in the right place, stay there long enough, and adjust when things aren't working.
