Hey there!!
Welcome to The Skool of Alt Rock! 🎸
I’m Nathan Lewis, and I’m gonna show you how I’ve recorded and released over 40 alternative rock songs using just GarageBand — with no studio, no expensive gear, and virtually no budget.
Of course, the proof is always in the pudding, right? 😂 Listen to my songs on Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/artist/1tC9Be7YdzAMTms96CfR2u?si=Z7tcV4heSP6Wu4T8IcKqXw
In here, we’re gonna cover the whole process of making cool rock songs — from songwriting and recording, to finding the perfect guitar tone, making the drums hit, mixing the whole thing, and eventually throwing it onto the internet for strangers to judge. 😂
And we’re gonna do it with ridiculously cheap gear. Like… “thrifted guitars where the new strings cost more than the guitar” cheap.
No fancy studio. No $3,000 microphones. Just cheap gear, GarageBand, questionable decisions, and hopefully some really cool songs.
So go grab your worst guitar. Open GarageBand.
And let’s make some noise. 🎸
