A lot of signs of stress go uncared for 🥺
Most high achievers miss this.
Do you meditate? Box-breathe? Ice bathe? Run? Practice yoga? If you do any (or all!) of these and still find yourself reactionary, tired, foggy, or worried at some part of most days, you're not alone.
Today, an incredible 75% of Americans report feeling stressed while 49% report daily symptoms, 57% report fatigue and headaches, 20% report brain fog, 21% report forgetfulness, and 27% experience critical cognitive impairment. Why aren't we recovering?
The answer has to do with what our brain waves and nervous systems add to the mix.
We don't just feel overwhelmed from events in our lives, but also from our nervous systems' constant need to align to whatever sound is nearby. So while you feel nostalgic, happy, or energized by certain pieces of music, you also feel edgy with jackhammers, car horns, machine vibrations, and leaf blowers you didn't choose to listen to.
We've always been this way, but we didn't always have machine sounds; instead, our systems attuned to birds, streams, wind, rain, ocean. Most people naturally gravitate to places without machine sounds for vacation.
Here's how to feel calm and energized.
  • Don't just do something physical, BE present in the space you are. That means both the venue and your body. What does your heart feel? How is your throat? Can you feel all the parts of your feet? What do you see around you? What do you hear, nearby and far?
  • Listen to the sound of your own breath and feel it consciously in your nostrils.
  • If you're able to go to nature, listen to the birds, the sea, the stream, or wind blowing in grass and trees. If you are not able to go to nature, you can listen for the wind between buildings. You can also cue up music you particularly enjoy that's happy or energetic (not what you use to hype yourself up but what your enjoy that makes you feel good).
  • Before bed, listen to gentle music you enjoy or nature sounds.
If nature's not easy to access or you just want to learn how to tap quickly into an inner well of calm, join us on May 30th for a QUICK and FREE immersive class: Calm Your Nerves in 2 Mins 🌿 and experience what calm clarity really feels like.
