Inviting members directly via email is one of the fastest ways to grow your community. You can send personal invites or bulk invitations to your contact list, and invited members bypass joining questions entirely.
Step 1: Access Your Community Settings
Select the Skool community you want to invite members to, then click on "Settings" in your dashboard. This will take you to your community settings page with multiple configuration options visible.
Step 2: Navigate to the Invite Link
On the left-hand side of the settings menu, click on "Invite." This opens your member invitation interface with two different methods to choose from.
Method 1: Single Email Invite (One Person at a Time)
This method works best when inviting individuals personally or when you only have a few people to add.
Step 3a: Enter the Email Address
In the "Email address" field, type the complete email address of the person you want to invite (e.g., someone@gmail.com). Step 4a: Send the Invitation
Click "Send" to deliver the invitation email. The recipient will receive an email with a direct join link that bypasses all joining questions.
Method 2: Bulk CSV Import (Multiple Invites at Once)
This method is ideal when inviting your entire email list or a large group of people simultaneously.
Step 3b: Prepare Your CSV File
Download a CSV file from your email service provider (like ConvertKit, Mailchimp, or your CRM) containing the email addresses you want to invite. The file should have email addresses properly formatted in a single column.
Step 4b: Upload Your CSV File
Click "Import" in the invite section. Click "Upload file" and select your prepared CSV file from your computer.
Step 5b: Send Bulk Invitations
Once uploaded, click "Send invites" and Skool will automatically send invitation emails to every person on your list.
Key Benefit: Bypass Joining Questions
The major advantage of direct invitations is that invited members do not have to answer any joining questions. They simply receive an email, click the join button, and are automatically accepted into your community. This creates a frictionless onboarding experience for people you already know and trust.
When to Use Each Method
Use single email invites when onboarding VIP members, personal connections, or past clients individually. Use bulk CSV imports when launching your community to your existing email list, migrating members from another platform, or running a promotion to your audience.
Things to Remember
Only invite people who have given permission to hear from you or who are already in your network. Direct invites create immediate access, so only use this for people you trust. Test with a single email first before doing a bulk import to ensure your CSV file formats correctly. Track who you've invited to avoid duplicate invitations.
Don't Do This
Don't bulk invite people who've never heard of you—that's spam and damages your reputation. Don't use purchased email lists or random contacts (Skool can suspend communities for this). Don't forget to follow up with invited members after they join to welcome them properly. And don't assume everyone will join immediately—some people need reminders or context about why they should join.
Best Practice: Personalized Follow-Up
After sending invitations (especially bulk ones), consider posting in your community or sending a welcome email explaining what new members should do first. Direct invites work best when combined with personal outreach, not as a cold traffic strategy.
