• 8 oz pasta (penne or fusilli work great)
• 1 tbsp olive oil
• 2 cloves garlic, minced
• 1 cup tomato sauce (or crushed tomatoes)
• ½ cup heavy cream
• ¼ cup grated parmesan cheese
• Salt and pepper, to taste
• Fresh basil leaves, torn or chopped
• Optional: red pepper flakes for a little heat
Instructions
1. Cook the pasta in salted boiling water until al dente. Drain and set aside.
2. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add garlic and sauté until fragrant.
3. Pour in the tomato sauce and simmer for 5 minutes.
4. Stir in the cream and parmesan. Cook until the sauce thickens slightly.
5. Season with salt, pepper, and optional red pepper flakes.
6. Toss in the cooked pasta and mix until well coated.
7. Remove from heat and stir in fresh basil.
8. Serve warm with extra parmesan and basil on top.
