If you're not using blogs to show up in AI search, you're leaving traffic on the table.
Here are a few things I’ve learned lately that are actually moving the needle:
- Start with what your “big fish” is searching - Use Google Trends (free), Pinterest Trends (free) or tools like SEMrush (paid) to find real questions—not guesses. Survey your customers, create social posts to ask them too.
- Answer the question directly in your blog - Think simple and clear: “How do I use a BBQ seasoning?” → that’s a blog. I know it sounds so elementary, but that is the strategy -- do make it harder than it needs to be -- trust me I've tried.
- FAQs matter more than ever - They align perfectly with how AI pulls answers. Add 3–5 real questions every time.
- Use Google Search Console (free) - Submit your post and get it crawled faster. Don’t just publish and hope.
- Push your content - Link your blog on product pages, emails, and social. Distribution is just as important as writing it.
A couple bonus things worth noting:– Keep your content clear and structured (H1, H2, short paragraphs)– Update older blogs instead of always starting from scratch– Internal linking helps Google (and AI) understand your authority
Bottom line: Blogs aren’t dead—they’re just evolving. Write to answer, not to rank, and you’ll start winning both.
