I think one of the biggest reasons dropshipping stores struggle isn't the product... It's working with the wrong supplier. You can have a great-looking Shopify store, run good ads, and even get consistent orders... But if your supplier has slow shipping, inconsistent product quality, poor communication, or inventory issues, it becomes almost impossible to build trust with customers. That's why I've come to believe that a reliable supplier isn't just part of the business they're one of its biggest competitive advantages. I'm curious... What's been the biggest challenge you've faced with suppliers? - Slow shipping? - Product quality? - Communication? - Pricing and margins? - Finding someone you can actually trust? - Or something else?
FROM BEING SCAMMED AND BROKE TO REBUILDING MY LIFE — MY JOURNEY AS A WOMAN WHO REFUSED TO GIVE UP
Firstly, I have passed through a lot in my life, and I have done a lot of different businesses and jobs just to survive and take care of my family. When I was working as a delivery woman, I was planning to use the money I earned from my monthly salary to set up my own restaurant. I was working hard and saving my money because I had a dream of having my own restaurant one day. Unfortunately, I was scammed by a fraudster and lost the money I had worked so hard for, and I went completely broke. At that point, I didn't know what to do anymore, but I had to keep moving because I needed to survive. I saw an opportunity where people were doing car washing, and as a woman, I had to beg for the job because I needed the money to eat, pay my taxes, and take care of myself. Eventually, they gave me the job. At the same time, my mother was very sick and suffering from high blood pressure. While I was doing the car-washing job, I started struggling with everything, and almost all the money I was making was going toward treating and taking care of my mother. I don't have a father, and I am the only daughter my mother has, so I had to take care of her because there was nobody else to depend on. One day, one of my friends who worked at a hotel told me about an opportunity she had at a bank. I asked her to talk to the manager and see if she could help me get a connection so I could also get the job. She tried her best, and thankfully, she was able to help me. Because the income from washing cars was too low, I decided to leave the car-washing job and start working at the bank as a cleaner. Before starting the work, I signed some letters and completed what I needed to do, and then I started the job. When I received my first month's salary, I used the money to treat my mother and pay some of my taxes and other expenses. Then, during my second month, someone introduced me to trading. I decided to use the money I earned from my second month to invest in trading, but unfortunately, I was scammed again and lost all the money I had invested. At that point, I had already been through so much that I almost gave up. I was tired, frustrated, and didn't know what else to do. But my mother spoke to me while she was in pain and lying in the sick bed, and her words gave me the strength to stand up again. I had to put myself together and continue the journey. I told myself that I had to be strong and continue fighting as a woman who refused to give up. Then, the next day, I heard my friend talking about Shopify dropshipping. She told me that her younger brother was doing it and had made around $50,000 in a month, and it wasn't just one month because he had been doing it consistently and making money each month. She decided to invest in it herself because she had already saved some money, so she got started. After about two weeks, my friend launched her store and started generating sales. During the same month when we were supposed to receive our salary from the bank, she was already making money from her Shopify store as a side hustle, and she had made a good amount of money that she saved. Watching her made me start thinking about my own future. After collecting my own salary from the bank, I started thinking about how I could also invest in Shopify so I could have another source of income and hopefully make the kind of money she was making every month. I wanted to change my life, so I closed my eyes, made the decision, and decided to give it a try. After I got started, I worked hard and followed the process I had learned, and after about one month, I saw more than $50,000 in my Shopify dashboard. After everything I had been through, I couldn't believe what I was seeing. I finally felt like my life was beginning to change. The first thing I did was rent another house and start putting more money toward my mother's treatment so she could get better. After all the struggles I had experienced, I finally started feeling like I had freedom as a woman. I could live a better life, take care of my mother, help my family, and be proud of myself. I am so proud of myself because I didn't give up. I went through being scammed, going broke, working as a delivery woman, working at a car wash, working as a cleaner at a bank, losing money through trading, and watching my mother suffer. There were many moments when I felt like giving up, but I kept going. Today, I am grateful that I made the decision to continue. I am now able to make more money each month, live a better life, and take care of my family. My journey has taught me that sometimes life can take you through very difficult situations before you find an opportunity that changes everything. I am sharing my story because I believe we are all human beings, and we are all here to learn, help each other grow, and chase our dreams. ECOMMERCE SUCCESS S
A few weeks ago, I was wondering why my eCommerce store wasn't getting the results I expected. Instead of giving up, I changed my approach, focused on the right strategies, and everything started improving. It's funny how one small change can make such a big difference. If you're in eCommerce, what's been your biggest challenge so far?
What’s your biggest challenge when working with dropshipping suppliers?
For anyone building or scaling a Shopify dropshipping store, I’m curious what part of the supplier process gives you the most trouble. Is it: 🔹 Finding winning products with good demand 🔹 Getting competitive supplier prices 🔹 Making sure product quality is actually good 🔹 Avoiding slow or unreliable shipping 🔹 Getting products sourced quickly 🔹 Finding a supplier you can trust long-term I’ve noticed that finding the right supplier can make a huge difference—not just in profit margins, but also in customer satisfaction and how smoothly the store operates. Which one is your biggest challenge right now? 👇 And if you’ve already found a supplier that works well for you, what’s the ONE thing you value most about them?
