Little People, Big Feelings Parent Club - Summer Series
Parenting was never meant to be done alone. If you're carrying the weight of tantrums, sibling conflicts, bedtime struggles, constant decision-making, and the invisible mental load of family life, you're not alone.   The Little People, Big Feelings Parenting Club is a live virtual parenting support group for parents of children under 10 where you'll receive practical tools, compassionate guidance, and a community of parents who understand. Each session includes teaching, discussion, and support around a common parenting challenge, with space for your questions and real-life experiences. Led by Karen Wolfe, LMFT, Hand in Hand Parenting Instructor with over 25 years supporting children and families therapeutically. We will draw from her breadth of experience as a child and family therapist, with a focus on the attachment-based methods of Hand in Hand Parenting. These groups are designed to help you find your village, reclaim your voice, and receive the support parents so rarely get. Because little people have big feelings—and so do parents. Little People, Big Feelings Parent Club - Summer Series
3-Day Parenting by Connection Challenge Starts Wednesday!
Starting today let's practice some parenting by connection tomorrow! Watch this 2 minute video called the Still Face Experiment that shows just how quickly and intensely children react to loss of connection. In my Brain Science of Children's Emotions Workshop I discuss how we call this disconnection Limbic Hijack. Our child feels disconnected ---> their thinking brain goes offline ---> the limbic/emotional system takes over ---> and they act out! Off-track, unworkable, non-cooperative behavior or full blown meltdown! Change begins with awareness! So our challenge this week is to notice when your child has gone into limbic hijack. That simple! **Notice the Limbic Hijack and share your stories in the chat here. I will be! ** The more we are aware, the less triggered we will be! You don't have to do this alone, it was never meant to be. **Note about shares: Use this like listening time: No advice, no fixing. Just listening with care and respect. Let's build safety and connection together!
What Staylistening actually looks like
The video below is a beautiful example of what Staylistening actually looks like with a young child. Watch this video and bring all your feelings about it to our group on Monday so we can work on all that comes up around being in connection with our children when they are dysregulated. The work of parenting by connection is deep and intense, but well well worth it for healing our own past hurts as well as supporting healthy attachment with our children https://www.instagram.com/reel/DWwVVMyjYwk/?igsh=NTc4MTIwNjQ2YQ==
