IGF-1, GH, & E2
Hey everyone!
Apologies for being MIA here. I've been doing some deep dives on Growth Hormone, Estrogen, and IGF-1. I have been putting together a social media post and will likely be hosting a clinical behind the scenes, but I wanted to share a piece of what I'm working on just because, well, I find it kinda cool lol.
Here's an example of the role estradiol plays for GH : IGF-1 expression. These are my personal lab values. As you can see, a higher estradiol value yields a higher IGF-1 value in the serum. When estradiol is suppressed it won't yield as much IGF-1 from the liver, indicating how much control the estradiol has over the IGF-1 expression.
Does this mean you should chase the highest estrogen values? No. But certainly limiting your estrogen by any means wouldn't be ideal either. Which likely tells us that there's a happy medium here somewhere and finding that will be very specific to the individual.
What you might find interesting is that the dose of GH I was taking never changed throughout the entire duration between these two lab draws (February to June).
What should also be considered is that while there are serum values we can find that give us a proxy of GH, I don't think we should simply aim to chase the highest IGF-1 values, but rather use it as suggested- a proxy. Using this to correlate biofeedback that's both subjective and objective.
Perhaps for another conversation, during the time when my IGF-1 was the highest, I wasn't necessarily experiencing the greatest growth- in comparison to where I am now, with my IGF-1 values being slightly lower. What's likely contributing the most to this likely has more to do with total androgenic load (mg dose) overall.
