When you’re out and about this weekend and you see that kid from High School, who used to love to party, DON’T ASK WHY THEY ARE NOT DRINKING. A lot of AUD and SUD are hidden and there is stigma. Stop asking.

This was such a hard lesson to learn. I literally gave up everything from the day my father passed in 2009 until May 25, 2019. My story isn’t spectacular or anything that anyone cannot do. I just decided that day, that everyone should know that there is no shame in recovery. Stop the stigma.

How long have you been sober or in recovery? It's ok if the answer is "I have an active substance use disorder." It's ok if the answer is "1 Hour" It's ok if you are just "sober curious"
