Hi all. If you're here, you're interested in self-hosting your AI automations. You've felt the pain of the cost, the restrictions or not being able to deliver a finished product to your clients and grow your offering without running into roadblocks or running out of ideas or just frustrated by the non-deterministic nature of tools like Claude or Openclaw running on their own. Studio is here to change all that.
Studio v0.9
Some of you used the original version of what's now Studio. That version did one thing, faceless video, and it was heavy. It worked, but it was rigid and hard to extend beyond that single use case.
Reboot
This community is a reboot. If you're wondering where all the old posts went, that's why. Clean slate, fresh start, better direction.
Studio v1.0.0
Studio is a complete rewrite. It's a general-purpose workflow engine that replaces the patchwork of tools most people are juggling, things like Airtable, Make, n8n, Zapier to name a few. It connects to AI generation services like Leonardo, JSON2Video, OpenAI, and Claude, but it also has its own workers, coming in the next few days, that replace or leverage those services entirely, running on your own hardware. Video is still there, but it's one of many things Studio can do now.
It's still early. The platform is functional and in active development, but features like billing and plans aren't live yet. I'd rather be upfront about where things are than oversell what's coming.
Here's what Self-Host Hub is about:
Helping you own your AI infrastructure. Your data, your servers, your rules. No per-run platform fees. No vendor lock-in. Swap providers without rewriting everything.
It's Live!
Studio is public on GitHub right now. Videos are on the way with walkthroughs, builds, and real workflow demos so you can see what it does before you touch a single config file. Installation is simple. Download studio-console, register a domain name if you want public access, answer a few questions and you're up and running.
History
A little about me. I've been a software and systems engineer for a few decades. When I learned AI a few years ago I immediately realized it's potential. After months of using costly SaaS services, the sticker shock prompted me to build Studio because I knew there was a better solution that just needed to be built and supported. So I did just that.
If you've been paying monthly fees for automation platforms that limit what you can build, or you've been duct-taping tools together and hoping they hold, this is the place to fix that.
A lot more is coming so, Welcome.
