Pumped!
I think it’s going to be super valuable discussing these other topics and golden nuggets outside of swing. I’ve learned the hard way myself to play well in a tournament is way more than a good swing. Can’t wait to get into the weeds on some of these other topics!

Hi!
Glad to be a part of this emerging community. I’ve been working with Cam for a few years now and am close to a single digit index. Love the game and the great people I’ve met through golf. Here’s to a great 2026 season!
Good Rotation Drive Right Pocket Back
I have been working with Cam on getting a good in to out swing. I made some progress but he gave me a tip that has really improved my rotation in the back swing. My back leg was not fully straightening and as a result my hips were not fully rotating back to encourage the in to out swing. I am now fully straightening the back leg or right leg in my case which is driving my right pocket back and getting my hips to fully rotate. My swing path has improved and I am hitting the ball much better
Don't Be the Wrist Shot Guy (How to Actually Become Better at Golf)
Think about a hockey player. High level, Junior C, College, even high school. Would they just work on their wrist shot for an hour a week, hoping to be the best player on their team? Almost every coach/golfer you will see will fixate every hour on the lesson tee on just the golf swing. For some reason as golfers, we are just taking wrist shots, not realizing we need a lot more skills to play the game well. Our group, Secrets to Scratch, is here to solve that dilemma. ---- THE ORIGIN STORY AND WHY SKOOL + GOLF LEARNING IS NEEDED IN GOLF Cam and I growing up were lucky to learn from not just our coaches on the lesson tee. Our now PGA Tour coaches gave us real classroom time. Yes, classrooms were rented. We had our high level golfing friends to bounce ideas off of. We played against dozens of future professional golfers now playing the PGA Tour, DP Tour, KornFerry Tour, Mini Tours, and hundreds that made it to the NCAA. We watched Tiger on Sunday's, Phil's DVD's, and were lectured by the old, yet savant like grouchy club pros on elbows to the target. We read books, and listened to audio books. More then that we had each other, and our older brother Mike who played NCAAD1. Beating balls in the cold garage, shovelling off snow on our artifical putting green after every day of school, chipping contests on the pool table, rounds at Glendale, drives to tournaments every week when the snow stopped. And our Dad, a great golfer in his right, guiding our steps. We had a golfing world. A golfing world that was different 20 years ago from today. A golfing world that was priceless, that produced champions. ---- THE STATE OF INSTRUCTION TODAY In North American golf today, golf coaching has not improved as deeply as technology in golf has improved. Sure we all have centre shafted putters, a treasure trove of youtube knowledge, and Youtube golfers. LIV and GolfNow and AI golf apps, Trackman, Decade Golf and Aim Point. But it doesn't fulfill the real education we were given. The linear path. The real secrets to scratch.
