“You have kept count of my tossings; put my tears in your bottle. Are they not in your book?”
Psalm 56:8
“Tossing” speaks of those restless nights when worry and sorrow keep you awake — the anxious turning, the heavy heart that can’t find peace. This verse reminds us that God sees every moment of that struggle. He keeps count of the times you’ve tossed and turned. He gathers each tear you’ve cried and records them in His book. Nothing you’ve endured is forgotten.
In Isaiah 43:3–4, God declares His love and commitment to His people — that He would give nations in exchange for their lives because they are precious, honoured, and loved in His sight. Ultimately, this love was fulfilled in Jesus, who gave His own life on the cross — the greatest ransom ever paid.
So when you feel alone, unseen, or unloved, remember this: God will do whatever it takes to rescue those He loves. Your tears matter to Him. Your pain has not gone unnoticed. Even when others walk away or let you down, He remains — faithful, constant, and near. You are never forgotten by God.
