The Eleusinian Mysteries - Supplemental Reading
You might find these articles interesting: 1. ) https://sacred-texts.com/cla/ebm/ebm05.htm 2. ) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eleusinian_Mysteries > "The Mysteries represented the myth of the abduction of Persephone from her mother Demeter by the king of the underworld Hades, in a cycle with three phases: the descent (loss), the search, and the ascent, with the main theme being the ascent (ἄνοδος) of Persephone and the reunion with her mother. It was a major festival during the Hellenic era, and later spread to Rome." I'm noticing a pattern here: descent -> searching -> ascent as a path of spiritual initiation.

Reminder: First Meeting is Wednesday!
Hello Gentlemen! Hope you all enjoyed the holidays and have had a fantastic start to the New Year! Just wanted to remind everyone that our first meeting is this Wednesday at 7pm EST. In advance, make sure you've read Book 1/Chapter 1 of Plato's Republic! Our discussion will be hosted over zoom, and the link can be found in the skool community under the Calendar tab. If you have any questions, feel free to shoot me a DM!
Welcome!
Welcome, everyone! I’m thrilled to have you all here. Over the twelve weeks of this cohort, we’re going to dive deep into some of the greatest ideas ever written, and I can’t wait to explore them with you. Our first session kicks off Wednesday, January 7th, from 7–9pm EST, and we’ll meet weekly at that time. If you have any scheduling conflicts, let me know so we can work it out. For future reference, our meetings will be over zoom, and the links to join will be found in the "calendar," tab of the skool community. The only task before our first session is to read Book 1 (Chapter 1) of Plato’s Republic (should take about 45-60 min). As a reminder the full course curriculum can be found inside the skool community under the "classroom," tab. If you’re feeling eager, you’re welcome to jump ahead with the readings or explore supplemental material — and of course, you can ask me any questions here in the community or via DM. I’m excited to be a guide and resource as you start this journey! Take some time now to enjoy the holiday season with your loved ones — and get ready to bring curiosity, energy, and reflection to our first session. This is going to be an unforgettable experience.
