Let’s be completely honest with ourselves. Healthcare is not for everyone. It takes a special person to do what we do every day. There’s a reason why we all don’t fit under the same umbrella. Everyone has a special unique way of doing their job providing what they need to do for those when they are need.
For example: there is one day that I felt like I didn’t know if this was for me anymore because I felt completely exhausted. Had zero patience continuously overstimulated. Did not want to come to work, which was absolutely not how I was before. I always enjoyed coming. That’s when I decided to take the plunge and provide myself worth and self awareness to why I should stay in this profession, but in a different location or a different department, so I went for that freedom to know what I wanted to do. I searched for months applied for many jobs from hospitals to care home to home care every department you can think of that I got offered at a different long-term, and it was the best decision I could ever make not because I wanted to change my workplace. It was necessary to change my workplace in order for me to be who I know I am and can be for my mental well-being. It was hard to move to a different place after being there for so many years you get into your auto pilot modes and your comfortability and yeah, I went out my comfort zone and I decided this is for me not for anyone else so if you are one that changed jobs or positions or what have you I’m here for you let’s talk !
