Alright fellow Savians, I have need of your thoughts and assistance. I have been named Technical Director of a club that feeds into my HS program. My responsibilities are player AND coach development.
The club has high potential and modest achievements at the moment. We want to more to a more European model, one in which all teams and programs act in a more Coordinated manner.
I have been tasked with developing curriculums for our U11, U13 and U15 programs. We have 45 hours of instruction (90m slots) and about 12-15 1h games.
I’m looking for ideas, concepts & plans I can use to implement an almost plug&play package for incoming coaches.
Some of our basic philosophies are:
- Offence before defence
- Play at speed
- Play at a run vs Run plays
- Technical development over winning
- Decision making over mindless repetition
At U11, which is what I’m struggling with right now, our KPIs will be speed dribble with both hands, pass to a moving target, catch on the run, be able to start stop on balance, power lay-ups.
I’d love to hear thoughts and ideas for both player instruction and coaching development.
