Don’t learn only half the word!
Learning a word in English is not just about meaning. It is also about sound. 🎵🎸🥁
Take the word record:
/ˈrekɔːrd/ as a noun
/rɪˈkɔːrd/ as a verb
Same spelling. Different stress. Different pronunciation.
If you do not learn how a word sounds, you are only learning half of it.
If you don’t learn the sound, you don’t really own the word.
