Check out the latest drop from the USCCA on Protecting Your House of Worship. My key takeaways are: Houses of Worship need safety and security because the threat is real. On a global scale there are active calls from ISIS and Al Qaeda, for followers to kill Christians in their churches in the US. Upwards of 75% of all attacks start in the parking lot. Having armed security in the parking lot will save lives. In many churches, it is easier to be a part of the safety team than the praise band. This is backwards. It should require not only a servant's heart, but also education and training. It doesn't matter if you're armed or not, you still need to be educated, and you still need to be trained. You need to keep a record of your training too. Church insurance may or may not cover volunteer safety and security team members. Each individual team member, regardless if they are armed or not, need to have Self-Defense Liability Insurance. This video is way too short to cover everything that you need to be a good, or even merely okay, safety/security team. Keep training with a USCCA membership, and get the benefit of being prepared mentally, physically, and legally. Join today!
