Falls aren’t random, they’re predictable when we know what to look for.
Next time someone is about to mobilise, try this quick 5-second check:
👀 Eyes: Are they alert? Do they look dizzy, tired or unsure?
🦶 Feet: Proper footwear? Slippers, loose shoes or bare feet = instant risk.
🧍♂️Stance: Are they steady, leaning, swaying or rushing?
🪑 Environment: Is the space clear, well-lit and is their frame within reach?
🧡 Confidence: Do they feel safe and steady to stand?
Five seconds. Huge impact. Small checks like this genuinely prevent falls and save lives.
