Monologue Competition (Repost)
Thando, 25, born in Soweto Landed a theatre role at 16 — never followed up. Quit a workshop at 19 when family needed her. Moved to Randburg at 22, became a receptionist, kept telling herself "later." Last year she was shortlisted for a film — skipped the callback out of fear. Last week, passed over for promotion while her brother got into college. She finally sees herself: the cautionary tale of wasted potential. This monologue is the promise she is making out loud — for the first time, she is choosing herself.
