I got my first ever pair of carbon-plated shoes (Altra Vanish Carbon 2), hoping to use them for the Midnight Sun Run.
But I've only ever run in normal minimalist shoes and don't know how much training to do in these? I know overuse can make them wear out too much and negate the benefit. But at the same time I'm so worried they'll be uncomfortable or too small or something on race day. I'm done losing toenails! Tempted to do my long run in them tomorrow. What do you think? How many km should I put on them before the race to get the most out of them on race day?
