Before the Rock N' Roll Film School there was The Gulf Islands Film and Television School. The school opened up in 1995. Rock N' Roll Film School founder Evan Allen was a student there in 1999-2000. After 4 courses over a month, he went directly into the film industry in many departments. He eventually bought the school he went to. He ran it for 5 years as Director and Mentor. Covid unfortunately locked us down until we could no longer keep our doors open. Evan continued his film career mostly as a Props Master but worked in many other departments as well. He now writes, produces, and directs independent feature films. Rock N' Roll Film School is now the Online version of The Gulf Islands Film and Television School. Here is GIFTS YouTube page of over 2500 student films. Students ranged from age 8 to adult of all skill levels. Kids with autism and asperges excelled in our courses as well. Many of our students returned to our film camp every summer and many went on to successful careers in the film industry in Vancouver BC. Hollywood North.
