What mask do you wear? 🎭

You're in denial, and I am too. We all lie to others, but we also lie

to ourselves. You're living a life of deceit. We lie to avoid pain, exposure, vulnerability. But the reality is that if you don't bring deceit to light, then you will remain wounded. Expose yourself and start the healing journey to the real you.

What mask do you wear every day? Can you give it a name? What's the lies that you tell yourself? Are you really Mr nice guy? Are you the people pleaser? Are you the tough guy that nobody should mess with? Do you tell people you're sober when you know that's a lie?

What's the truth?

Here's one of the many masks I wear. If I were to give him a name I'd call him "Mr. Success".

Mr. Success is accomplished, capable, admired, and in control.

He wins, he leads, he keeps the plates spinning. He’s confident, composed, and never lets anyone glimpse the cracks.

I'm afraid of what people will think of me if they realize I'm not successful. I'm afraid I'll lose opportunities, relationships, and status.

The lies I tell myself are,

If I’m successful, I’ll be safe.

If people respect me, they won’t reject me.

If I look strong, I won’t have to feel weak.

If I keep performing, God will approve of me too.

I have constant pressure and exhaustion trying to keep up this facade.

But the truth is, failures not my enemy, it's my friend. The truth is I'm a child of God and he his grace covers my inadequacy. The truth is my wife and I have to continually work to improve our relationship. The truth is my business goes through ebb and flows of growth and set backs.
