Go Dig Another Well
This message laded in my in-box today.
What a powerful and timely message.
I'm sharing it because I suspect there are others who could benefit from the wisdom in the message:
Shalom, Gregory,
Hidden in Toldos is a code most people miss.
Yitzchak digs a well.
They fight over it.
He doesn’t cling. He doesn’t defend his honor.
He moves on… digs again.
Repeat.
According to Kabbalah, wells are symbolic of abundance, a flow of goodness, wisdom, and trust in the Creator.
Abundance is supposed to build abundance.
The same way wealth builds wealth.
Trust compounds and builds more trust.
Just like Yitzchak who is rooted in the Sefirah of Gevurah (which is connected to the energy of ambition, drive, and desire), we can be ambitious and continue building regardless of what our external circumstances are.
Yitzchak eventually reaches the state of:
“הרחיב ה׳ לָנוּ” – “Now HaShem (G-d) has made space/room/expansiveness for us.”
It’s one thing to tap into abundance from your own Essence Identity.
It’s another thing to finally see the manifestation of your co-creation with HaShem (G-d).
So here’s the punchline:
Not every battle means “try harder.”
Sometimes the Heavens within you are whispering:
“This is not your place anymore.”
Yet we often lean towards self-sabotoge and do the opposite:
Forcing misaligned partnerships because “I’ve already invested so much.”
Chasing clients, circles, or communities that clearly don’t have room for our essence.
Staying where our soul is constantly explaining itself instead of expanding.
Yitzchak’s move is royal Gevurah:
I don’t fight for what isn’t mine. I go where HaShem (G-d) widens me.
Your Toldos question this week:
Which “well” am I still fighting for… that HaShem (G-d) already told me to leave?
Pick at least one area – business, relationship, community.
Then make ONE “Rechovot move” toward a space where your presence is wanted, not tolerated.
If this hits and you know you’re overdue for that shift, keep moving the dial towards the greatest expression of your essence:
Grow like a tree.
Lead like a lion.

(Background Reference: "Toldos" (or Toledot, תּוֹלְדֹת‎) in Hebrew means "generations" or "descendants" and refers to the sixth weekly reading (parashah) from the Book of Genesis in the Torah, focusing on the lives and lineages of Isaac, Jacob, and Esau. It's named from its opening words in Genesis 25:19, "Now these are the records of the generations of Isaac".
Meaning: Generations, descendants, life stories, chronicles.
Significance: It covers key family events, like the birth of Jacob and Esau, Esau selling his birthright, Jacob tricking Isaac for the blessing, and Jacob fleeing to Laban.)
