☕ Weekend Mimi Thoughts: Before You Move Closer…
Happy weekend, ladies! I've been reading a LOT of comments from grandparents who moved closer to their adult kids, only to have their kids divorce. Now they're living somewhere they don't particularly want to be, and the whole reason they moved has changed. And it got me thinking about something I didn't include in my Moving Closer Guide. How solid is your adult child's marriage or relationship (or maybe even yours)? I know. Nobody wants to think about their kids getting divorced. And I'm certainly not suggesting you sit them down and ask for their five-year marriage forecast. 😂 But divorce happens. Jobs change. Custody arrangements change. Grandkids sometimes move away. Before you sell your house, leave your friends, and start packing boxes, consider the risks. And have a Plan B. Here's a question worth asking yourself: If your adult kids divorced tomorrow, and your grandkids ended up living somewhere else, would you still be happy living where you moved? Because that's a BIG decision to make based on circumstances you don't control. I'm not trying to talk anyone out of moving closer. I did it myself! But I want you to think about the things that don't always make it onto the pros and cons list. NEXT WEEK: We're turning this conversation around. When should you consider moving BACK or moving AWAY from your adult kids and grandkids? I have four years of personal experience with that one. 😂 ❤️ Let's talk! Have you considered what would happen if your adult child's relationship changed after you moved? Or has this happened to you? I'd love to hear your thoughts!

You Want to Be Part of Their Everyday, Even From Far Away ❤️
You want to be someone they can’t wait to tell. ❤️ About the goal they scored. The friend they made. The ridiculous thing that happened at lunch. You want to know their world and have a place in it. Even when you can’t be there for all those everyday moments. I know that feeling. My grands live 1,800 miles away. My Long-Distance Grandparent Playbook is now in the Classroom, and I wrote it for grandparents who want more ways to turn “I miss you” into something they can enjoy together. Inside are 78 pages of ideas for babies through adult grands. Stories to share. Texts worth answering. Games, video calls and little traditions that become yours. The kind of things that lead to “Remember when?” and “Can we do that again?” We’ll also talk about visits, making things easier for their parents and those expectations we swear we don’t have. I supplied a few personal lessons there. Some came with mileage. One came with a deed. 😂 You’ll find research in everyday language, conversations you can make your own and worksheets to choose what fits your family. The free guide is a great beginning. This gives you more to try and come back to as they grow. My grandma had 26 grandchildren. I saw her two or three times a year, and she still made me feel loved and special. I remember the games. The birthday cards. The cinnamon rolls with a section made without walnuts, just for me. She knew me. Those little things stayed with me. That’s what I want for us and our grands. More little things that stay. I promise you’ll come away with fresh ideas, more confidence and a plan to create little moments that make your grands feel known and loved, no matter the miles between you. ❤️ I’m Christi Perillo, adult learning and behavior change expert and the Long Distance Mimi. You’ll find the playbook in the Classroom for $22. ❤️

Your next “What can I do with my grandkids?” idea is in the Classroom! ❤️
Your grandkids keep growing. And the way you connect with them gets to grow right along with them. ❤️ From babies and toddlers to school-age kids, teens and grown grandkids, every stage gives you new ways to build that special relationship. But sometimes you find yourself wondering: “What could we do together?” “What could I text them?” “How do I connect with what they’re interested in NOW?” That’s why I created The AI Connection Guide, a brand-new $9 resource now available in the Classroom. It shows you how to use AI to come up with fresh ideas for texts, games, stories, traditions, activities and adventures based on your grandchild’s age, personality and interests. Have a baby grandchild? Find sweet traditions you can start now. A curious seven-year-old? Create a silly story starring them. A teenager who has outgrown some of your usual activities? Get ideas based on what they’re into now. Grown grandkids? There are plenty of ways to use AI to help you stay connected with them, too. Because this isn’t really about AI. It’s about having more ways to say: “I know you. I’m interested in your world. And I love being part of your life.” And if AI feels intimidating, don’t worry. I specialize in helping people over 55 use AI without the overwhelm. I’ll show you what to ask and how to go from “What in the world do I type?” to “Ohhh…we could do THAT!” 😂 No tech jargon. No hours figuring it out. Just simple prompts and fresh ideas you can actually use. You bring the love. The guide gives you fresh ways to show it. 👉 The AI Connection Guide is $9 and waiting for you in the Classroom. You’ll see it right at the top. Grab it, try one prompt, and come tell us what you’re excited to try with your grands! ❤️ https://www.skool.com/reignite-your-life-9182/classroom

“Boy Moms… Let Me Save You Some Grief…” 😳
When the Other Grandma Gets More Time With the Grandkids This MIL was hurt because her DIL’s mom gets more time and access to the grandkids than she does. So she decided to address it…with a THREE-PAGE text! There is SO much to talk about here. Feeling left out is real. Feeling jealous is human. But what we do with those feelings can either bring us closer to our adult kids…or send them running for the hills. Watch the video and tell me what you think. And be nice. We’re talking about the situation, not beating up the MIL. ❤️
