Introduction: Brett Guminsky (Madonna HC)
Hello everyone and welcome to the Reamon Recruiting Academy. I am excited to be a part of this group. My name is Coach Brett Guminsky. I am the Head Football Coach at Madonna University which is a 4 year NAIA institution in Livonia, Michigan. I have either coached or played at every level from FBS-D3 and in the NAIA. Rather than listing all the schools I’ve been at, I’ve included a graphic below. I coached with Coach Reamon back at Christopher Newport University in 2017 where he was our recruiting coordinator. He has a wealth of knowledge and a very impressive resume in regard to talent evaluation and the process of talent acquisition from the college level and NFL ranks. I have also gotten to know Coach West who is phenomenal at understanding how to get prospective student-athletes to the next level and has first hand experience helping families navigate the recruiting process. A few things I’d like to highlight for all the prospects and parents in this group. I believe the recruiting process comes down to evaluation, exposure, timing and opportunity. Evaluation/exposure - What I would be doing as a prospect and parent is figuring out what the accurate current evaluation is, finding out what you can do to heighten that evaluation, and then deciding how to get yourself some exposure. Timing/Opportunity - In modern college football, situations are drastically changing on both ends. What I mean by this is institutional needs are constantly in flux due to the portal, commitments, flips, coaching changes and so much in between. Prospects situations are also constantly changing in reaction to the college market. I’ve seen prospects go from zero offers to now they have FCS offers and on the flip side go from FBS offers to now hoping they can get on with a D2/NAIA/D3. This is a phenomenal platform with Coach Reamon and Coach West. I look forward to witnessing this group provide a lot of prospects with invaluable information and insight.
