4unit rental construction and financing

Hello Everyone,

I'm in the market to purchase a duplex with legal basement suites or build one myself. I'm currently working with CIBC but I'm interested if anyone has knowledge in grants/programs for purchasing new properties/building your own could help me a lot. Anything that would give a better interest rates than traditional banks, or programs you can involve yourself in, or special loans/grants for building. I'm located in Northern British Columbia.

I know this is fairly vague, but i've only purchased SFD rental properties with the help of my bank before.
