Real Costumes
Rehearsal times:
One of the things I sometimes struggle to get directors, especially new directors, to grasp is the importance of allowing time for your actors to acclimatise to their costumes. Not just for fight scenes (though that is pretty vital) but for every day scenes as well: to me and thee it's a costume, but to your characters it's their normal, every day, clothes. If you want to sell the world your film is set in you can't have characters tripping over their own clothes!
