The letter Y is a vowel MOST of the time, not "sometimes" as the saying goes. We use Y as a vowel in a lot more words than as its consonant sound. I was never taught this as a kid or while training to become a teacher. Only learned it through Phono-Graphix training. So helpful for kids to know this! I just stumbled across this resource I made for my students years ago. I think I've changed how I explain it to kids a bit but the process is basically the same.
