Bible notes 7/13

Psalm 84 - Lord I pray today for a continued pursuit of righteousness and I ask for your corrective spirit. Expose in me layers of pride and wickedness that I may bring them to the foot of the cross. I want to lead a better life and follow you with more surrendered intent.

Romans 1 - Gods wrath shows up when his truth is suppressed, when i know I’m sinning and ignoring conviction. It looks like him giving us over to our sinful behavior. If this is what you want, have at it… almost like a fed up partner of a drug addict, after attempt after attempt to help someone get clean, if they just don’t want to you have to separate yourself and love them from afar, letting them carve their own path. The pursuit of fleshly sinful desire leads to a list of other sins, envy, strife, deceit, malice, gossip, slander to name a few.

2 Kings - the Babylonian empire has started taking over, killing the kings sons in front of him, removing his eyes after that to blind him and keeping him alive. They destroyed and burned the holy buildings including the temple. The Israelites wanted a king, they wanted to be like the rest of the world and now they are. They placed human leadership (or lack of) ahead of Gods leadership and they went corrupt, and now have destroyed all that had been worked into place over the course of history from Abraham to Moses to david.
