Shooting your shot and the best way to approach it?

So I’m curious cause I know a lot of great opportunities sometimes are from shooting your shot in this industry. I was thinking about shooting my shot to some of my favorite artist that are already supporting my stuff in terms of Shows/remixes. What is the best way to approach this? Email or insta DMs cause I don’t ever want to come off as an annoying artist bugging them. Anyone with experience from this lmk what the move is?
